Hi and welcome to my blog.

My name is Michelle, but I'm writing under the name M.L.Marty. It's my initials and my family name. My entire life has always been an ongoing conversation where others often listen and join in. I look forward to sharing this ongoing conversation called life with those who wish to listen in. It is my hope to use this space to connect with my readers and fellow authors in a way that’s meaningful and interesting. Think of it as an ongoing conversation where I can share updates about life, the business of writing, discoveries, frustrations, triumphs, and more.

I have always been an avid reader, happily escaping into the worlds that others have created for me. I only recently started writing a world of my own, a little over five years ago. When I started, I figured I'd be happy if I could write a short fanfic to distract myself for a season. Fifteen plus novel length drafts later I'm finally planning on doing something with it. But that means talking to people and putting myself out there.

I've never had any trouble with acting, singing, performing. It doesn't bother me. I know my lines, my blocking, my dance numbers... but this improvisation? Hoping people like the real me without lines or blocking? That's scary! And vulnerable. And writing feels like putting your innermost thoughts on display... but here we go. Life is all about growing and taking chances. Putting yourself and your art out there. I'm on this ride for the duration. Would you like to join me?
